Standalone New Home with The Existing House Remained
, Project Purpose: The owner wanted to subdivide the land into 2 lots without demolishing the existing house and build a new home in the rear side of the land. The existing was to be kept because this could be sold or rented later for an investment purpose.
, Access to New Home: Because of the narrow side yard of the existing house, the access to the new home was problematic. As a result of negotiations with Council we decided to cut only the corner of the existing house to accommodate the 3m wide new driveway, saving the cost for moving the whole house that would be the case otherwise.
, New Home Plan: As the owner wished the new home accommodates 4 bedroomes including a master bed with a study and walk-in wardrobe. The downstair bed is designed with a scope of future renting. Downstairs wet areas are grouped in one compact space with easy access to backyard for easy housework. The spacious kitchen, dining and living layout, a large amount of storage space and the internal garage help the young family’s comfortable home life.
, Drainage & Neighbors Consent: the drainage of the new home had to connect to a public connection located in a neighbor properly. We could successfully get the neighbor’s consent for the drainage connection work.
